josie jane "JJ" rhodes
Josie Rhodes is a contradiction in denim—reckless and romantic, guarded and poetic. She grew up on the move with her dad, a traveling race mechanic who raised her between grease-stained motel rooms and pit-stop towns with names she barely remembers. Her life has been lived in motion, which is why stillness makes her nervous and permanence feels like a trick.
People call her Crash—partly because she’s reckless behind the wheel, but mostly because of the way she crashes into people’s lives and leaves something behind without meaning to. She doesn’t chase connection, but it happens anyway. She’s soft in places no one sees, loyal in a way that aches, and has a strange, aching wisdom beyond her years.
Josie sees the world in impressions, moments, and gut instincts. She can’t always explain what she feels, but she feels it all—deep, messy, and without warning. It’s why she comes off detached. Distant. But really? She’s just trying not to drown in it.
She doesn’t know Asher Cole’s reputation, and she wouldn’t care if she did. He’s just another clean-cut kid in a town that feels too shiny and too sure of itself. But there’s something about the way he watches the world—like he’s trying not to drown in it too—that flickers across her radar. Not enough to chase. But maybe enough to keep her from looking away too fast. |

JACKSON & DAHLIA RHODES- Josie and her dad are more like road-weary teammates than traditional parent and child. He taught her how to rebuild a carburetor before she could spell carburetor. He doesn’t always say much, but she knows when he looks at her, he’s proud. They’ve had years of only having each other—and while there’s tension at times, there’s also deep, unshakable love. He calls her “Crash” with equal parts fondness and exasperation.
- Josie remembers her mother in bursts of color—music playing in kitchens, lipstick stains on glass, lullabies half-sung and never finished. Dahlia loved hard but never stayed. Josie doesn’t talk about her much, but the ache is there. Sometimes, when she laughs too loud or gets a certain faraway look, you can tell she's her mother’s daughter.

TATUM REYES- Tattoo apprentice in Tucson.
- Tate and Josie met at a tiny roadside diner in Arizona when Josie was sixteen and trying to earn gas money doing oil changes. They clicked instantly—two broken, wandering souls who spoke fluent sarcasm and emotional avoidance. They haven’t seen each other in a year, but they still exchange voice notes that range from raunchy jokes to confessions too raw for daylight. Tate is the one person who truly knows Josie, the one who would drop everything and show up if she ever asked.
