Gas & Go
 

The last gas station before the road really opens up into highway.

It’s small:
• two pumps on each side
• a low brick building with a convenience store inside
• fluorescent lighting that hums faintly at night

Inside, there’s:
• a coffee machine that’s always on
• shelves of snacks and drinks
• a cooler along the back wall
• a small counter with lottery tickets and gum

The parking lot is uneven, with oil stains and worn lines.

People stop here when they’re:
• leaving town
• coming back late
• or not sure which they’re doing yet

Atmosphere:
transitional, quiet, a little in-between
